I don't know about you but I love to organize the crafts for school parties, help with bulletin boards and make cards for people...do you? One of my favorite things is making birthday cards for teachers and getting all of the kids involved. Even if you are not a "creative" person, which I think that EVERYONE is actually creative in their own way but that is another post, you can make this great card! Teachers work so hard and usually have our kids all day on their birthdays...so make it a special day with a great card...and some treats of course.
1. Purchase: poster board & card stock - color and white
2. Optional purchases: stickers (sparkles) & letter stickers
3. Take a picture of every child in the class (could be optional).
4. Bring in white squares of paper and have each child write a note or draw a picture to your teacher.
5. The hard part...measure out the "flaps" and used double-sided tape to stick down.
6. Use your creativity to decorate and put letters on the "flaps" to send your teacher a special message.
This should be a fun and creative project and can be accomplished in a variety of ways. Hopefully this will help you celebrate the wonderful teacher that cares for your child every day. We love our Mrs. Yu!! :)

We have found a store that is not only amazingly beautiful to shop in...but it is also as eco-friendly as you can get! We are thrilled to be working with ecoEmporium and wanted to introduce them to you! Below is a little glimpse of their company. We hope you will visit their store in Atlanta or online.
ecoEMPORIUM endeavors to make the world and our environment a better place to live by introducing our customers to earth-friendly products with style, regardless of your shade of green.
Founded by local residents Carol and Bruce Held, ecoEMPORIUM is Atlanta's first
one stop shop for earth-friendly, organic, and non-toxic products.
Eco: The prefix eco- is used for words relating to ecology or to the environment. Derives from the Greek word "oικος" (oikos) which refers to a "house" or "household."
Emporium: from Greek emporos = 'merchant' which refers to a store selling a wide variety of goods, and for marketplaces or trading centres in ancient cities. This 3,200 square foot lifestyle store is just that, a market place, a bazaar of sorts that caters to the community and offers choices for living a greener lifestyle with style. A clean fresh palette is revealed to customers entering into the space. Filled with large antique display cases using fresh earth tones of beige, white and soft greens, you will find tranquility and a sense of calmness as you shop.
ecoEMPORIUM has carved a truly unique niche in Atlanta. This is a store
that will allow customers to elevate their lifestyle while being
sensitive to our planet. A place that will reach out and open their
doors to the community, ecoEMPORIUM plans to offer "how to" classes,
organic farm fresh food events, tastings, and child focused activities.

Since the creation of our Organic Binkie Bungee last year, we have become a lot more aware of wonderful stores and websites that only focus on products that are good for the earth AND your baby. I was introduced to the creator of www.mightynest.com earlier this year and have been excited about the launch of their site since we met.
MightyNest is not only a great store to find eco-friendly products for your home and kids but it is a community. You can get advice, reviews, helpful hints and a ton of information...all in one place. I have really enjoyed browsing through the site and really love their facebook page as well. it has behind the scenes pictures of their warehouse and announcements of new products.
Here is some info straight from MightyNest:
MightyNest is 100% focused on helping parents build healthier homes for their families. MightyNest is an online resource where parents can learn about potentially hazardous chemicals found in everyday products (think BPA, lead, etc) and purchase non-toxic, eco-friendly and stylish alternatives for the home and family. We handpick the best content and products and as a result cut hours from the research process allowing time-crunched parents to quickly and easily make decisions and take action all in one place.
Ways you can get to know MightyNest:
www.twitter.com/mightynestCheck out the site and get to know them. It is a great company and I know you will enjoy their expert advice and fabulous product selection!

We wanted to show you a few of the costumes that we found this year that we thought were great. Remember, these are not the most affordable costumes...but they might give you a good idea for a costume if you don't want to buy these exact ones! We will be showing you more affordable ones in "Part 2" next week. If you are interested in knowing more about these, you can click on them but we just thought they were really cute. The dog one really cracked us up. Hope you are all thinking outside of the box this year for your kid's costumes...or even your own. Remember, if you dress up as a Chipotle Burrito, you might win a free burrito! (That is what they did last year. Maybe I will post pictures of our burrito costume in the next post. Stay tuned.)

We want to tell you about some of our favorite Organic online stores that we have been working with over the past year.
The first one is www.zoebonline.com. Valerie at Zoe b has been a customer as well as a wholesale representative for our Organic and now Eco-friendly Binkie Bungees. We really enjoy working with her and have learned a lot about the organic world in the process of working with her.
Here is a bit of the "about me" from www.zoebonline.com:

We are so excited to introduce our new line of Eco Binkie Bungees in 3 fun prints! They are made of Oeko-Tex Certified fabric, which means there are absolutely no harmful dyes or chemicals. And, just like our Organic Binkie Bungee, each will come packaged using recycled cereal boxes. Here's a sneak peak!
